Evo Flora is an incremental strategy game where you build a plant kingdom retracing 1 billion years of real plant evolution. Breed real species by environment, research real adaptations (flowering, CAM photosynthesis, anemochory), slot evolution cards, and complete biomes to climb weekly leaderboards. Every plant is authentic - part idle game, part botanical encyclopedia, part empire builder.
Gaël Poulet is a French solo developer working full-time on Evo Flora, his first commercial release.
Originally trained in software, Gaël spent several years living abroad, where he developed a deep fascination with tropical vegetation. He'd come back from weekend hikes with a small cutting in his pocket, try to propagate it at home, and sometimes succeed. He still finds that magical. The curiosity eventually became the seed for Evo Flora.
Two years into full-time development, the game blends his two long-running interests: the discipline of incremental strategy games (clean systems, satisfying numbers, the slow climb up a tech tree) and the strange real history of plant evolution (1 billion years, weird gymnosperms, the invention of flowers).
He builds Evo Flora alone. Design, code, art direction, audio direction, marketing. He answers his own support emails. The bug reports get fixed by the person who wrote the bug.
